Love Yourself this February

Health, Wellness, Self Care, February, Personal Chef, Dietitian

We hear it all the time…love yourself and the body you are in, take time for self care, make time to eat well and work out…etc. Although technology should be making our lives easier, it seems as though we find ourselves with less and less time to do all of the things we should be doing for a healthy lifestyle.

Adding to what we discussed last month, about creating SMART goals…we are going to discuss three simple modifications to set you off in the direction of positive self image, care, and ultimately fully loving yourself.

3 Improvements to Love Yourself

1. Positive Affirmations | Tell yourself what you love about yourself and do it often! Additionally,  you can use a mantra to exclaim your goals; for example as a busy entrepreneur it can be helpful to remind myself that balance is necessary in life. I will use a task that I do regularly throughout the day, like getting into my car, as a time to slow down and remember that balance is essential.

2. Gratitude Practice | Reflecting on the positives that occurred throughout the day is an excellent way to keep a productive outlook on life and goals that lie ahead. I like to use a “brain dump” worksheet I created, before bed, to reflect on the day, clear my mind of what needs to be done the next day, as well as prioritize tasks. This is a great way to ensure a smile before bed, sometimes you may not even notice that an event that took place that day was impactful, but allowing yourself to reminisce can help to shed positive light on an experience.

3. Treat Yo’ Self | Do something for yourself everyday! It can be elaborate, or as simple as lighting a candle, reading a good book, and drinking a cup of tea. Remember that self-care IS NOT SELFISH, it is essential to good health and wellbeing for the long-term.

I wish you all a fantastic February! Love yourself, if you’re not there yet remember that it is a practice and that you can start whenever you would like! Take each day one at a time, and remember to be kind to yourself!
